Copper is set in the 1860’s Five Points area of New York City.  Detective Kevin Corcoran(Tom Weston-Jones) is a Irish cop for Five Points. Kevin joined the police after serving in the Army for the Union.  Five Points is a tough area with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds ruthless business people and lot of vice. Midsomer Murders

I have always enjoyed a good detective story.  Midsomer Murders has been season after season of great stories.  Tom Barnaby is a DCI in the fictional county of Midsomer.  So far there are 17 seasons so far. At the end of season 13 Tom Barnaby retires and his cousin John Barnaby moves to Midsomer and takes his place as the new DCI there. Read more of this post

Sherlock

I am a confirmed Sherlock Holmes fan I read all Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories before I was 13 and still return to them on occasion now.  I resisted a modern adaptation…but I need not have.  Benedict Cumberbatch plays a fantastic Sherlock Holmes and Martan Freeman’s portrayal of Watson is spot-on.  The writers adaptation of original stories was done with great skill preserving Doyle’s tone while modernizing the story line has in my opinion been accomplished.  Read more of this post
