A LAPD detective is released after being wrongly imprisoned for 12 years. Upon his release he is awarded a multi-million dollar settlement and everyone expects him to retire in comfort. However… What people don’t realize is that being in prison as a cop is a dangerous business. Once your previous career is known the more honest and successful you were the more people have it in for you and then survival becomes the order of the day for you. 12 years of that might change a man. 12 years of that might make you want to know who set you up. 12 years of that might give you a bit of a desire for justice. 12 years of that might give you some interesting friends.
The LAPD has had a great many shows about it. It must be difficult to figure out how to do something different, ‘Life’ did something different, and it worked. I had great fun watching this.
